The Best Inheritance ~ La Mejor Herencia

Your beauty...  got wiser with years...
I can admire it on your beautiful white hair...
Your love... turned sweeter with time...
It shines in your eyes...
Your strength...  grew stronger...
I can feel it in your heart...
Your hard work.... turned in to a great harvest...
and I am part of it...
Your joy... became our own...
and your faith in Jesus became our own and that's the best inheritance you could ever leave us...

Some tips about fall prevention

Falls can be very dangerous, specially for elderly patients. The good thing is that in most of the cases it could be prevented.
Here are some simple tips to prevent falls.

  1.  keep the floors clean and clutter free
  2.  maintain the house, specially the stairs, well lighted
  3. avoid standing up quickly
  4. be aware of the side effect of your medicines
  5. have a good night sleep and if necessarily a nap during the day
  6. keep yourself hydrated
  7. eat all your three meals on time and have a snack in between each meal, if necessarily
This are some of the tips you can follow to prevent falls or help a love one. Please talk to your doctor or the family member's doctor to talk more about fall prevention.

Healthy Thanksgiving Recipes Article - Allrecipes.com: "The Big Turkey
If you're hosting a small gathering, buy a turkey breast rather than the whole bird, as breast meat is lower in calories than dark meat. If you do buy a whole turkey, avoid "self-basting" turkeys, as they often contain added fat. And--it goes without saying--stay away from the deep fryer this year, and roast or smoke the turkey.

Stuff the turkey cavity with whole or halved onions, halved lemons or apples, and sprigs of fresh herbs such as sage, marjoram, thyme, and/or rosemary.

Rather than rubbing the skin with butter or oil, spray it with an oil spray and season it with salt and pepper."

MCVAN 2011 Happy Holidays!

2011 has being a wonderful year, with ups and downs, with tiers and laughter, with hard work and success. We thank God  for His blessings this year and for the ones to come on 2012. At MCVAN we had the opportunity to spend time with our community specially our Latino community, in different events and the experiences were beautiful. We love our community and we are working to get more involve with it.

We are reaping what we sowed with hard work and love, and we appreciate your support and trust.

God bless you and your loved ones on the Holidays, have a Merry Christmas and a New Year filled with the presence of God and His blessings.
